You went to open a bank for your business and they ask you to provide you EIN! What is that EIN? It refers to a 9 digit number which every US business has to obtain known as Employer Identification Number (EIN) along with a variety of other names, is like a social security number for your business. There is another important point that you need only one EIN number for all of your businesses in you are running more than one business. But if you are running one business as a sol proprietor and other as a partnership then you need separate EIN for each business.
